The Purpose of Life/Existence

The purpose of the individual

What is the purpose of the individuals life?
Is it to know who they are beyond name and form, to become self-conscious of their divinity and connection to life. To live and interact with others from this place of sacredness and love and to help others know themselves? To be utterly free and happy, total freedom and the kingdom of happiness.  To end all limitation and sorrow, to attain perfection, conscious perfection, true freedom, to know who I am, to end conflict and confusion, to no longer have any questions as to who/what I am, what happens in death, in what sense do I exist/am real. To discover Love. To attain the kingdom of happiness and to know inexhaustible Peace.  To no longer feel like you are missing something. To create out of the place of stillness and sacredness and thus create things of beauty, truth, and harmony. To establish order and virtue in ones life.
Outer Purpose – To live in the world and bring to manifestation your talents and unique contribution to the world.  To live in the world but not of it.  To enjoy the game, the play of life; but not take it seriously.
and
Inner Purpose – To find the soul and whether it exists or not.  To know who you are ultimately.  To dispel all illusion.

The purpose of life as a whole

What is the purpose of life itself, on the universal, meta level? Is it for the universe to become self-conscious, for life to attain its summit, its perfection? For consciousness to become self-conscious?  For spirit to fulfill its self through form?

What is the purpose of existence? Is it for form to experience itself, for the formless to experience itself, for the formless to experience itself through form? Is it Love, the experience of oneness.  The play of forms for the sheer joy of it?

Does life, existence, the universe have a purpose at all?  It could be a “tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.”

“He is born in vain, who having attained the human birth, so difficult to get, does not attempt to realize God in this very life.”
