About
Seth Balthazar is a philosopher, writer, and poet who is synthesizing the dispersed streams of the Western Mystery Tradition — alchemy, high magick, Gnostic Christianity, Arthurian myth, Tarot, Kabbalah, and astrotheurgy — into a unified living path called The Royal Art. A Hermetic philosopher, Grail Knight, and Disciple of Light, he is the scribe of the Astral Library of Light, the voice of Way of the Wizard, and the founder of The Order of the Hidden Crown, a private Mystery School for those walking the Royal Path. He is currently writing The Book of the Royal Art and The Tale of the Exiled Prince, a mythic narrative of the soul’s journey from fall to coronation and the restoration of the Kingdom. He lives in the mountains of Japan, where he writes, studies, and plays traditional European and American folk music on guitar and banjo — and through speaking, writing, and music he explores the re-building of the inner Temple, the Quest for the Holy Grail, the crafting of the Philosopher’s Stone, the blooming of the rosy cross, and the coronation of the inner King as realities to be lived.

The Royal Art
The Royal Art is a living restoration of the Western Mystery Tradition for the modern age — a Christ-centered re-membering of that tradition into one living spiritual path. It unites Gnostic Christianity, Hermetic alchemy and magic, Hebrew Kabbalah, Arthurian myth, and initiatory orders into one total story and way of life, gathering the scattered wisdom of religion, philosophy, mythology, mysticism, Hermeticism, alchemy, and the sacred arts around the Great Story of the soul’s exile, remembrance, and return to God. At its heart is the story of the Exiled Prince, who, having forgotten his origin in the Kingdom, awakens to the call of remembrance, follows the Quest through trials and transformation, and returns as the True King. It is called Royal because its central aim is spiritual kingship: the transformation of the soul from the fallen, exiled Prince into the sovereign, integrated, divine King — the path from separation to atonement, from lead to gold, from separate egoic self to Christhood.

The Astral Library of Light
The Astral Library of Light is the comprehensive archive of a single, unified Work — the Royal Art: a living archive and a workshop of research and ideas, where the Works of the Royal Art arise as books, stories, spoken teachings, and practices. Its fourteen Books of the Opus trace the whole arc of the Great Story — the formation of reality, the Fall and the Exile, sacred history and the Covenant, the Way of the Christ, the Grail Quest, the Hermetic Art, the Mystery Schools, the New Earth, the Sacred Kingdom, the Bardic Opus, and the final Apocalypse and restoration of all things. The Outer Library is freely open to all who want to explore the tradition and study the material, while the Inner Library — holding the deeper work, selected private pages, and study paths — is for subscribers and private students.
