Show me your original face
The one you were before your mother was born
Can you remember your original face?
Which face are you, amid the dressing room full of masks?
Is your true face this mask or that mask?
Or is it the absence of the mask wearer?
You have forgotten your original face, your innermost nature.
You will try on many masks on many faces before you grow tired of the whole play.
To walk onstage unmasked and naked takes great courage, and great humility
To see your original face you must gaze into the inner mirror without hiding from what you see
Perhaps you have never seen your face in the mirror
Perhaps like Narcissus you are drowning in your illusions
Be careful whose mirrors you use
And find your original face
